Painting a sunset can actually be as meditative as observing one, which is why I paint so many of them. I get lost in the layering of the color, the meandering marsh waters and the sound of the chalk rubbing against the sandy surface of my panel. In Evening’s Blush the blue and smokey purples of the night’s sky begin to engulf the oranges, pinks and yellows that warm the horizon. These colors are reflected in the water and warm the grasses. Pastel on panel, 18 x 24" plus 2" black frame with antique gold lip.
