Audacious Lavender

A group of 5 artist, myself included, were dropped of at this lavender field in the Southwest of France with a cooler of water and our pastels. It was close to 100 degrees that morning so we took cover under the group of trees in this painting. Despite the heat it was one of my favorite painting memories. The air was dry, the sky was clear and the smell of the lavender was heavenly. The lavender was to be harvested the next day. Pastel on Sanded Paper, 12x16 plus 3” black frame with antique gold lip.
