In order to maintain my personal equilibrium, I continue to adjust to the changing roles I play in my life and am finding that’s a good thing. My role as parent has hopefully become that of friend to grown children. Retirement has allowed me to call myself an artist and when my mother passed away several years ago, I left the role of daughter behind (but not quite ready for the role of wise elder). Leaning into these new roles makes life so much easier and richer. In Equilibrium”, the setting sun turns the blue purple field into a rich red purple.
